Shrimp and Rice with Rosé Sauce

Ingredients

1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp (1 mL) each salt and pepper
Pinch red chili flakes
2 cups (500 mL) tomato sauce
1 lb (500 g) peeled deveined large shrimp, tails removed
1/4 cup (60 mL) 35% whipping cream
1/4 cup (60 mL) finely chopped fresh basil
2 pkg (250 g each) Tilda® Pure Basmati Rice Ready to Heat

Directions

1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil

Tips

  • Add a splash of dry white wine, brandy or vodka before adding tomato sauce if desired.
  • Add 1/2 cup (125 mL) frozen peas when adding the shrimp if desired.
